There is no application form but each request for funding should include the following:
- A description of the project of no more than 1000 words, with supporting documentation. Please specify the contribution it is expected to make and the plans you have for its publication or dissemination.
- A timetable for its completion.
- Budget setting out the costs of the project, with proportion of the award to be spent on costs such as secretarial expenses, printing, publicity etc. Please specify any other expected contributions from other sources such as donations, or other income.
- The applicant's details, including name, address and the person or organization to whom the award should be paid
Please note:
- No application to be funded for more than £1000. Please bear in mind that this is the top sum and that we frequently offer to make contributions of less than £1000.
- The Trust cannot award grants for work associated with political parties.
- There is no rule limiting the number of applications any one candidate may make, although no more than one grant can be awarded in any 12 months to any applicant.
- The Trust exists to fund specific projects. We do not have sufficient resources to finance running costs. In normal circumstances we do not fund wages or contribute to living expenses. We will, however, consider travel and work - related expenses which contribute to socialist education and research.
- The Secretary will be pleased to comment on draft proposals.
- All recipients will be expected to submit a concise reportback on completion of their projects.
Meeting dates: The Trust meets three times a year. The dates are posted on our website or you can find out by writing to the Secretary.
